We decided to create new, representative websites for the association and reviewed financial matters, new members, and upcoming events.
The spring meeting will be held in March. We welcome ideas from residents to improve the comfort of local playgrounds.

Suvilahti-Seura ry was founded in 1975. In 2025 we celebrate 50 years, with local nature, community, and a safe everyday life in Suvilahti at the heart of our work.
Local residents founded the association to improve comfort, neighbourly help, and community influence with the city.
Volunteer work (talko), neighbourhood events, and shared clubs became established. The culture of doing things together grew stronger.
Communication moved increasingly online and the range of events expanded.
The autumn meeting on 10.11.2025 decided to renew the association’s website. The anniversary year is celebrated together across the neighbourhood.
Local nature first: we sort waste, prefer reuse, and encourage carpooling to events. In volunteer work we use durable tools and minimise single-use items.
Events are open and safe for all ages. We consider accessibility, families with children, and seniors, and strengthen a sense of belonging in the neighbourhood.
Transparent decision-making and open communication: meeting matters, finances, and plans are communicated to members. We respect privacy and follow data protection practices.
We build a practically carbon-neutral event model: litter-free volunteer work, reuse of materials, borrowing/renting before buying, and responsible procurement. We also choose local service providers who use green electricity for hosting, to keep our digital footprint as light as possible.
